About
Hello I’m Rosanna and I offer group yoga and meditation classes and private one to one personal yoga sessions. My yoga and meditation classes are in Alresford, Hampshire, and support people to maintain physical and emotional wellbeing, using calming yoga and meditation practices.
About my classes
I guide a gentle style of yoga, where we slowly practice restorative postures and sequences that help maintain and improve our natural functional movements, resulting in a feeling of greater comfort, flexibility, and ease in the body and mind. Aiming to settle aches, pains and stiffness, and increase self-confidence, I encourage my students to move at at their own comfortable level and speed during the class.
With mainly soothing movements, and some careful strengthening work, I often offer my yoga students the opportunity to incorporate breath awareness into their practice as they move, helping to increase feelings of personal freedom and peace. I also invite my students to join in with some exercises where we focus solely on breathing, helping to regulate our nervous systems and improve health.
Along with physical yoga practice, we use other comforting yoga techniques such as meditation and relaxation exercises to care for our emotional and mental health.
My sessions always include at least one focussed relaxation practice, where we sit or lie comfortably, while I guide us all on a calming journey for the body and mind.
Sometimes I enjoy adding some light spiritual and yoga philosophy into my classes, to help guide our souls towards a feeling of contentment. I am also drawn to sharing meditation and self discovery practices which help encourage a feelings of peace and meaning.
About Yoga
Yoga is a traditional Indian practice that supports physical and emotional health using movement, breath and relaxation. Yoga can be revitalising and help maintain a peaceful body and soul. Yoga may help to relieve aches and pains, improve strength and flexibility, and help us cope better with feelings of stress, worry, anger, sadness and other challenging feelings. Yoga also helps us to learn about ourselves, which can build feelings of confidence and contentment.
About me
I’ve been practicing Hatha yoga regularly for several years. My inspiration may have come from my mum and my grandfather (her father), who have practiced yoga for much of their lives. When I had my daughter and son in 2013 and 2014, I particularly connected with yoga and meditation throughout my two pregnancies, during labour, postnatally and the start of my motherhood. Ever since, I have enjoyed practicing yoga and meditation most days as it brings me physical and mental balance, strength, flexibility, clarity, truth and peace – whatever stage or phase of life I am at.
After practicing yoga for many years, I trained to become a yoga instructor in 2017. I wanted to provide classes that share yoga methods, in a warm and sociable class environment. Giving people the time and space to nurture their body and mind, by sharing yoga practices in a group and privately, is something I feel passionate about. Hoping to guide people to find peace and positivity in their day, my class is a welcoming space to help people connect with themselves, and also have the opportunity to connect with others.
I believe that yoga can be a way of life. Many guidelines that were created from traditional yoga philosophies, can be implemented throughout our daily lives, to help us work towards a balanced, calm and content existence.
About my experience and qualifications
I’m an experienced and qualified (Yoga Alliance Professionals UK) yoga instructor. My certifications include 200hr Certified Yoga Teacher, as well as specialist teaching certifications for Prenatal, Postnatal, Baby, and Children’s Yoga. With these qualifications, and many years of yoga practitioner experience, I’m able to offer wellbeing exercise opportunities to all adults, expecting mothers, postnatal parents, and their babies and children – by sharing yoga practices with them in a welcoming, friendly and relaxed environment.
In the group classes I share effective yoga techniques that are beneficial during all stages and terrains of life. My classes help to gently maintain physical strength and flexibility, relieve aches and pains, and stretch out tension and stiffness, as well offering time to practice relaxation and breathing. The sessions may help reduce stress by improving wellbeing in body and mind, giving opportunities to experience the many benefits that yoga can bring physically and emotionally.
In addition to my Birthlight baby and postnatal yoga teacher qualification, I have an 85 hour pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher certification from Sally Parkes Yoga which meets the standards of The Yoga Alliance Professionals (UK) and The Yoga Alliance US, and is also certified by the Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT).
